[01] Blog about not doing your portfolio.
somehow blogging about not doing your portfolio seems oddly legitimised, as if one process were truly on par as the other. well, maybe not on par, but because by blogging, i'm adding/ continuing to our erm.... lackthereof-discussions, so it feels like i'm doing something worthwhile -- as opposed to sleeping, stalking cute boys online, staring at photos of said-cute boys, wanking (not necessarily in consequence to previous two events), watching television, eating, eating, eating, eating, eating, eating, eating, gaming, etc.
[02] Blog about the sillies of doing your portfolio.
maybe the right way to frame this post would be to make it seem as if i were bringing forth a discussion on the process of building a portfolio. only then will this be worthwhile.
well then, when i was uninspired for the past few days, i did things like go on Yahoo! to find "tips on making architecture portfolio". that resulted in what appeared to be a promising site; post-clicking, i was only reminded of how full of junk the information superhighway is.
then there are the occasional sites that lift your uncreative spirits with zen-like aphorisms like: Too many people overvalue what they are not and undervalue what they are.
riiiight...
[03] Blog about interesting issues (in/directly) concerning with making a portfolio.
one bonafide question was, however, conjured in the process of pf-ing: when is it considered "appropriation", and when is it plainly a rip-off? William Drenttel attempts an analogy in an earlier discussion:
the idea of borrowing ideas is getting more complex everyday. Inherent in the modern definition of originality, though, is that ideas are extended, language expanded, and syntax redefined. Take a psychologist's ideas and experiences, as explained through the eyes of a journalist, and turn them into a play, a work of fiction — this is a work of complex "appropriation."[04] Post a picture!!!

so here're the panels (1/4 done) i'm working on for skhol.KUBER_ARS, complete with explanation of what goes on simultaneously as i work.
