Dear reps,
The RIBA Visit will be taking place next week. The board will be visiting studios on Thursday afternoon - try to get everybody to look busy!
Best wishes

yr 2s are building a pavillion by Mcdonalds, only that it is built by hired bangalas who got no idea what that effort of pomposity represent. how nice of NUS to teach our budding students that our world lies upon the marginalisation of foreign workers for our attainment of aesthetic values. we see great leadership from the young architects holding plans and authoritatively telling the workers how to build. what a great learning opportunity for them!

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!!!!
the year 2 pavilion is built by hired help!?!?!? that's really amazing! what a lesson in construction and building indeed.
maybe we should advise kheng soon's studio to contract the same construction workers for his autonomous house 2. i mean, surely there's something to be learnt from our oft-said bright and shiny example of a junior batch.
i think you guys are too harsh on the "try to make everyone look busy!"
its actually quite funny of him!
chill everyone, don't let your distaste of school get the better of you. dislike doesn't necessarily bring about bitterness.
whilst sio might be right that robson's comment was -- given the benefit of doubt, since we don't know him -- made tongue-in-cheek, the satire eventually references the *showmanship*/ "acting" mentality, which as wuks highlighted, is demanded of us (singaporeans as a whole perhaps?).
reminds me of a separate discussion i had with someone earlier (either sio, ames, chez, wuks, or my friend rachel) in that one of the greatest turn-offs at nus is this insidiously indescribable, self-perpetuating/ fuelling mentality that the majority of its people (both staff and students) share.
having said that, i might take minor offence (because i'm losing interest in taking nus seriously) for as a higher institute of learning, we'd expect more.
that's all.

btw, whose deleted comment is that?
yes yes.. we are all actors and actresses. can't help it.. we're too beautiful to let go. hahaah. come to think of it i am actually quite good at acting; have managed to fool my tutors into thinking that i can actually design!
where's my award?
and the deleted comment was by me- spelt something wrongly and can't seem to edit it. relax.
me too.
i always act beautiful.
hehehehehe...
