Singapore Design Festival: Architecture Tour.

As part of the Singapore Design Festival organised by Design Singapore, my colleagues and myself embarked on a 2-hr architectural tour to 3 high-rise high-end well-designed exclusive condominiums. i shan't bore you with most of the details (or there-lack-of) and i shan't complain about the efforts (or there-lack-of) the organisers put into this tour.

Basically, unknowingly, we were all a part of a non-guided tour. We were free, however, to erm, take pictures of the places we were allowed into. You'd notice the pictures were taken only from ground level of which we were kindly given access. So at the end of the day the tour was a non-tour in which no spaces could we experience but for one.

an architectural tour indeed.

but for what its worth,

1

i quite like this one. i mean, i've always liked it. the only difference the tour made was that we were about 20metres nearer the external facade.

This Apartment-which-must-not-be-named can be considered the highlight of the so-called tour as we were let into the showrooms. the layout of the spaces horizontally and vertically created smart efficient and comfortable living spaces. its a simple concept of 2 vertical L-shaped spaces forming a whole rectangular space. the resultant - every unit has a double-volume space, a mazzanine level, and the lift only need stop at every 3 floors. the corridor spaces are adjacent to many vertical volumes flowing through all floors, letting in ample light and ventilation.

WOHA's Moulmein Rise is no stranger to us. once again, we were only let into the communial outdoor spaces so all i can say is very nice work with the facade and triple-tier longitudinal swimming pool.
