Stuck in not a quagmire but an ECO wave(tsunami)

ah che is rite, i m stuck in this urban planning gpwork thing longer than any other studio. every studio has a diff site, diff agenda and a diff scale; some dont even need an urban plan. despite all these 'mess', we all need to come out with housing, plans, sections, elevations, perspectives *yawn* the same stuff. Part of an nus aki student is prob abt managing this cirriculum mess.

back to my main topic, (which i bitched abt previously to deedee) is tt nus aki is now swept by a fu*king big wave of sustainability, eco etc u know wat. Green is in vogue. Green is the only word that can get away without critical comments. For eg. u create a shaded atrium space for say public performance. u r going to get qns left right center on why this form, why this location, why u need such a big open space, y u still use conventional method to design public space etc. Worse than Normandy, or the Baltic War. But if one says something completely contentious like the waterbody acts as some communal focal point, or that creative people prefer to live in luxuriant green environment or like spend a few million dollars to de-concretize a canal to make it 'look' like a natural river; there will be no sane man left in nus to stand up to say, 'what the hell are u talking about? where did u get yr facts from?' these green dudes think they are gods or think that we have been going against nature for too long so they try to be some crusader or something. What have they done to show that re-creating a river/ swamp is better than the current state? Do they in fact have knowledge tt they are not going to do more harm to the environment? I mean u create this lake here and there, how much knowledge to u have tt u can do one without siltation at the banks and clogging up the whole fucking place? Jiu ming. In nus aki today, u hear things like eco stepping stones, harvesting energy, creating systems etc. why do u create yr own natural sewage filtration system when a working one is very well developed in yr area? by having large patch of green, do they think tt animals are gg to return? the best is u have a cacophony of exotic insects and pests. u r not going to have yr tiger back again.

even recycling presentation panels is becoming in. These dudes talk all day and waste studio hrs. The only things they show are just recycled panels from OTHER people's presentation. Their urban plan didnt change for 2-3 wks. But jus because they SAY they are doing ECO industrial town, they get things like 'wow brave idea, thinking out of the box.' Fuck me ten times over. We do sections color plans photoshop perspectives and then piece the model together while these tree huggers go bk home to sleep. Pls. I cant wait for this green fucking wave to be over. Build one 20 storey building with plants and solar panels all over and see wat u get. Mosquitoes as neighbours and a customer of sun tan lotion. I mean these green dudes advance their agenda forgetting what they do architecture for. The people. Are u sure people want to go back to jungle life in tropical singapore? Do they know that yes plants reduce temperature and what not but they are also the reason why the humidity is so fucking high?Come on these dudes cant even qie me in science and they talk abt saving the world. How much do they know that creating such a so called ECO masterplan is safe? If a bird flu pandemic spreads or like some strange plant disease; u tell me who wants a bird's nest next to their baby's crib. Talk is cheap. I can also say airy fairy things like lets go bk to the kampung days. Ask ard, who wants a return to the kampung days? With LOST and retarded shows like Project Superstar on tv, who is gg to interact with their friendly neighbours? Plus nowadays, u will prob be living with some foreign talent tt prob dont speak yr language. haha. Who out there thinks that interacting with some obnoxious stranger is less retarded than watching CSI?
