hi guys need ur help and brains...
hmm i am in charge of making a prototype model by tues for design of a water park in lower seletar reservoir as part of a public exhibition of all the rivers and the design interventions given to them as part of PUB/CPG's masterplanning project.
the key is how to bring out the river as the central theme while fading the importance of the built up environment and even the greens. conventional models of such a nationwide scale tend to be overly formal (think URA) and formalistic. lacking the memorable impression and interactivity with the audience.
as u can see its difficult to break out of the sterility of flat contour models, blue water, green fields, massing volumes. maybe i am stuck lol.
hmm but several simple things came to my mind as to make things cutesy, out of scale, almost whimsical but memorable. hmm do gimme some suggestions ok? thanks you very much~

you sound like you want to incoporate somekind of fancy flashing lightbulbs kind of theatrics.
i'm out of ideas myself, seeing as how this seems to be a really small model. i think it'd be fun if i had small boats or people (brightly colored) to plant on the model. like each member of the audience gets to bring activity to the water bodies.
don't know. think my idea's boring...
