haha found this absolute gem of a literary classics comics strip. this is how i got educated in the confucian classics. right now reading INTRODUCING series for freud and nietzsche.
anyways this little strip here illustrates my point regarding confucianism in itself is a benign self cultivation similar to Tao and Zen. it preaches moral rule stemming from a cultural enlightenment. how modern day confucianism is perceived as oppressive, conservative and backward by western literature and even the sporean interpretation, is merely politicising the ideology to meet its ends.
and, pple who reads Confucius, will know spore is definitely not wat koolhaas made out of "hard core confucian shamelessness".
