sio is sleeping on the floor behind me as i'm writing this. we just spent a few rather unproductive hours in the DDS doing little till i began producing the 'renderings' you see above on sketch-up. perhaps it's because i've not done this in a while, but paneling is suddenly quite a task. somehow my most recent experience with this when doing my portfolio had conveniently escaped me, leaving me to imagine that presentation layouts are simple! turns out that distiling the past few weeks' work into an A1 panel is not quite what i had pictured it to be.
the good news is, i'm pretty happy with the renders above, and am feeling more motivated and inspired. i find i need inspiration from my work more than i do from other people's works in order to come up with the correct layout. this is not to say that others' presentations aren't good; lots of them are very moving, but i feel that every work has its intrinsic quality that needs to be realised in order for the most appropriate panel to appear. what works for others certainly doesn't always work for everyone else.
i mean, that is unless of course you're a really good 'photo-copier'...
